Finding every Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is no easy task and there are some that are much rarer, and therefore harder – or more valuable – to find in the game.

Whether it’s unique weather conditions, limited-time spawns, or evolution lines locked behind rare encounters, these are the Pokémon that make completionists sweat.

Below are 10 of the rarest Pokémon you can get in the game, each with its own rare spawn, challenge, secret, or special evolution requirement.

1. Eevee

Eevee is one of the most sought-after Pokémon in Legends: Z-A because of its many evolution paths. It only spawns in one patch of grass in the entire game!

If you’d like to find it, check out Eevee’s location in our Pokédex here.

2. Gengar

Gengar is always one of the sought after Pokemon and it’s no different in Pokemon Legends Z-A. There’s a single mission where you have an opportunity to get one!

If you’d like to find it, check out how to get Gengar in our Pokédex here.

3. Helioptile

Helioptile needs specific weather conditions and only spawns in one place on the entire map, making it really easy to miss. Its evolution into Heliolisk demands a Sun Stone, increasing its rarity.

If you’d like to find it, check out Helioptile’s location in our Pokédex here.

4. Honedge

This is one of the most iconic Pokemon from Kalos and it returns in this game. But, it’s not very easy to find – as it’s a rare spawn in two locations. You will need to be patient to find one, so have that in mind before trying to track it down.

If you’d like to find it, check out Honedge’s location in our Pokédex here.

5. Drampa

Drampa gets a Mega Evolution in this game and only spawns in one spot, very rarely. It is one of the best looking Megas in the game, too!

If you’d like to find it, check out Drampa’s location in our Pokédex here.

6. Pancham

As a rare spawn in just one location on the map, Pancham is one you’re going to need to dedicate some time to find it.

If you’d like to find it, check out Pancham’s location in our Pokédex here.

7. Dratini

Dratini is the classic rare spawn — found on rooftops and even if you find it, there’s a very high chance it will run away – so don’t miss your chance. Its evolution chain toward Dragonite remains one of the most time-consuming pursuits for collectors in Z-A, and Dragonite and Dragonair don’t spawn in the wild. Go get that Dratini!

If you’d like to find it, check out Dratini’s location in our Pokédex here.

8. Gallade

Evolving Ralts or Kirlia into Gallade requires not only a male Kirlia but also a Dawn Stone. It appears just once in a post-game mission as an Alpha – it’s the only time we have seen it in the wild.

If you’d like to find it, check out how to get Gallade in our Pokédex here.

9. Absol

Absol’s elegant design and low encounter rate make it a must-have for trainers seeking rare Dark-types. It spawns very rarely on rooftops.

If you’d like to find it, check out how to get Absol in our Pokédex here.

10. Beldum

Beldum only spawns in one part of the entire map, and it evolves into Metagross – which is a massive perk. It has the same catch rate as a legendary Pokemon in this game. You don’t want to miss it this time (but there’s a good chance you might).

If you’d like to find it, check out how to get Beldum in our Pokedex here.
