Jodie Comer was exhilarated and terrified making 28 Years Later
Jodie Comer plays Isla in 28 Years Later, a character who also lives on that island community, and in an interview filmed during the shoot, she says: “Being on a Danny Boyle set, I found it to be the most amazing experience – the relationship that the camera seems to having with the characters and the story and seeing how that comes to life.
“I was quite taken aback because I felt like I spent a lot of time outdoors in beautiful locations, and then all of a sudden, I’m being chased. I was scared. There is a kind of tension within it. You can’t fake it when you’re in these high-intensity situations. It’s exhilarating. It’s thrilling. It’s terrifying.”
As for why a Boyle movie is different to other horror movies, Comer says: “I think what Danny brings to this genre is humanity, and emotion.”
28 Years Later hits screens on June 19, 2025, and will be followed by sequel 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple on January 16, 2026.
