Newly elected New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has something to say to 50 Cent after the rapper expressed his displeasure over the results of the election this week.
Featured Video50 Cent has made it clear for some time now that he doesn’t want Mamdani running New York City. Unfortunately for him, the majority of New Yorkers disagreed and elected Mamdani by a wide margin on November 4.
“I think his intentions are good, but his Tax plan is gonna run the big money out of the city and if he defunds the police they are gonna purge,” the rapper wrote on Instagram Nov 3. “All Roads lead to SHREVEPORT !”
The next day, after the results came in, 50 got even more dramatic, simply posting an image of a gravestone with the words “RIP NYC Founded 1624 Died 2025” written across it. “R.I.P. NYC,” he captioned his post, apparently needing to drive his point home.

Prior to election night, Mamdani refuted 50 Cent’s concerns during an appearance on MSNBC’s The Beat with Ari Melber.
“What I would say to you, 50, if you are indeed watching—or anyone else who’s watching this show—is I continue to think having the top 1% of New York City, or [those] making more than a million dollars a year, having them pay 2% more for an economic agenda that would transform every New Yorker’s life, including their own, is something that is worthwhile,” he said, subsequently adding, “I have to say, even though we have a disagreement on tax policy, every time I get a death threat, I still listen to ‘Many Men.’”

Before all of this, 50 Cent had tried to offer Mamdani over $250,000 to leave NYC and pull out of the race.
“Where did he come from,” he wrote on Instagram in October. “whose friend is this? I’m not feeling this plan no. I will give him $258,750 and a first class one way ticket away from NY.”
AdvertisementWith all this in mind, it doesn’t seem coincidental that Mamdani opted for a song by Ja Rule—who has a long-standing feud with 50 Cent himself—to be played when he won the election. Whether it’s Mamdani himself or somebody else, someone on that campaign knows what they’re doing.

“Walking out to Ja Rule when 50 Cent has beef with you is actually so funny I love this era of millennials in charge.”
Meanwhile, 50 Cent has continued trying to funnel people to Shreveport, Louisiana, taking to Instagram on November 5 to write, “Escape from NY hit the road, all roads lead to SHREVEPORT.”
