59-year-old Chinese streamer, Auntie Juan, went viral for her Counter-Strike skills after she took out two of the world’s best pro players.
Before she turned 50, Zhong Juanjuan had no interest in games. It wasn’t until the global pandemic that she insisted her son teach her how to play. In the span of a few years, with a camera turned on, streaming every step of her evolution, Auntie Juan has become a force that strikes fear in any lobby she enters.
“When I first started, I’d just walk straight into walls. I’d be walking while looking up at the sky,” she said in a Sixth Tone video from reporter Lü Xiao. Now, she’s so skilled, in fact, her chat fills up with accusations of somehow faking it all.
“Some say I’m using some kind of ‘elderly CGI.’ Some think I’m using a voice changer. A few days ago, someone said, ‘Are you an AI?’”
Auntie Juan gets kills over world’s best CS pros
The now 59-year-old has since become a massively popular streamer in China. While she dips into other games like GTA 5 and even Elden Ring, her main focus is Counter-Strike.
At the time of the recording in January, 2026, Aunty Juan had logged a whopping 8,057 hours in Valve’s tactical shooter. Not too shabby considering she only picked up a mouse for the first time a few years prior.
Being recognized for her skills in CS, she was invited to a friendly exhibition match which involved a number of other popular streamers and pro players. Among those on the enemy team were 19-year-old phenom Donk, who was ranked the best CS player in the world in 2024, and 24-year-old Sh1ro who has over $1M in prize winnings from events.
In a moment that exploded across Chinese social media platforms, Aunty Juan killed them both. Her lightning-quick reactions led to kills on both esports stars.
Of course, it was just one round in a lengthy back-and-forth battle, but it showed the late-blooming Chinese streamer could hold her own against the very best in the world – a staggering feat given her admission that her “life before had nothing to do with gaming.”
