With hours left until Ironheart Episodes 4-6 drop on Disney Plus, one of the show’s biggest spoilers has leaked – and it’s something fans have been predicting for a long time.

First introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the Marvel show follows Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), a young, genius inventor who gets expelled from MIT. In need of cash to fund her tech, she turns to The Hood (Anthony Ramos), who has mysterious, magical powers.

That latter part is especially important, considering how the MCU has dabbled in magic with Doctor Strange, the Scarlet Witch, and Agatha Harkness.

Ever since WandaVision, fans have been expecting a particular villain to show up – well, “may you tremble.”

Mephisto is coming in Ironheart Episodes 4-6

According to a review of the series by The Telegraph, Mephisto makes his debut in the back half of Ironheart – and he’ll be played by Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen.

“It’s been a while since the arrival of Sacha Baron Cohen has inspired anything other than an indifferent shrug,” the review reads.

“But he steals the show here – admittedly not difficult – as a pantomime villain version of that old favourite, the Devil, here going by one of their many noms d’evil, Mephisto.”

For those unfamiliar with Mephisto, he is basically Marvel’s version of the Devil who rules over Hell. He was introduced in Silver Surfer #3 in 1968, pitted against the Fantastic Four and other heroes, and later coming into conflict with the Scarlet Witch (who may return to the MCU in Vision Quest) after she unwittingly conceives her children with his soul fragments.

Scoopers, leakers, and fans have widely predicted Mephisto’s appearance in Ironheart as far back as 2023. As per The Telegraph, Mephisto “marries Danny Dyer’s accent… with Victorian-style face furniture” and he “feels parachuted into Ironheart from an altogether higher camp planet.”

“Mephisto kickstarts the momentum of a show that too often gets bogged down… if Mephisto had locked horns with Ironheart earlier, we might have had a show worth saving,” it adds.

The cast also confirmed in all but name that Mephisto would be making an appearance. Speaking to ET Online, Thorne and Ramos were asked if this is the last we’ll see of “him” (aka, Mephisto).

“I don’t think so, I hope not that it’s not the last time we see him… I do think it’s the best boost of encouragement that you could get when I did learn he would be introduced in Ironheart,” Thorne said.

“Of course, we know how much the fans, and how long the fans, have been waiting for that. For it to be in this show that they get him, let’s go.”

Ramos added: “He’s one of the elite actors of our time too.”
