A Grand Tour: Inside Eclipse’s Celestial Castle
Share this

If you read my previous blog post where I shared that I had renovated Eclipse’s home into a grand celestial castle alongside showing off her throne room you may remember that I briefly mentioned that I was working on also renovating the other work in progress rooms.

I was going to originally have her backroom as a library/royal study space area, her right wing be a bathroom and her left wing be a grand dining space. I decided to swap the bathroom and library/study rooms so that they looked better.

I thought I’d show you her finished castle as a grand tour now that I’m happy with the outcome. 🙂

Here’s Eclipse’s throne room, it is the main room of the castle so it’s the first room you see as you enter her castle. Eclipse is the Queen of Serenity and her throne is on the left and her late husband’s throne is on the right. There are some royal guards assigned to their posts nearby to the thrones to protect her royal majesty whenever she’s attending to her royal duties.

There is a giant moon at the back of the thrones, this is a reference to Eclipse’s name and her celestial moon powers passed down from her ancestors. There are merlions scattered around this room and the rest of her castle to represent purity and cleansing. 🙂

From this room you can enter the backroom which leads to the royal bathing quarters. The right wing leads to her royal majesty’s study which is a soothing library that has thousands of books. The left wing leads to the royal dining hall where lavish feasts are held. Upstairs leads to her royal majesty’s sleeping quarters.

There was a previous version of the throne room which used the palace wallpaper, I swapped the wallpaper out for the lunar horizon wallpaper instead to match the other celestial rooms apart from the royal bathing quarters which uses the rococo wallpaper. These photos were also taken before the renovated for the bathing quarters at the back had begun.

The backroom is the royal bathing quarters, it serves its purpose as a soothing bathroom to cleanse or simply practice self care. The bathing quarters is decorated with beautiful genuine artwork sculptures with beautiful Casablanca lilies, these elegant flowers resemble both joy and life— alongside the celebration of life from death which can be seen as Eclipse’s grief from the passing of her late husband, Orion.

This room is Eclipse’s study, she usually spends a lot of her time doing her royal duties and private time here. There are thousands of books in this study, ultimately resulting in this study becoming a library as well.

This room has the most time spent inside of it as Estella, the princess of Serenity was tutored by her private mentor here when she was much younger and was often read to by both of her parents. However, during the current wake of the death of Orion this room has been neglected in grief and solitude.

I feel like the refurbishment makes the room look a lot better than it did originally, like it matches the lore and aesthetic of Serenity as a whole. I’m super happy and proud of this room, it’s definitely one of my favourite rooms inside the celestial castle. 🙂

Here’s the castle’s royal dining hall. This was the previous version before I decided to change out the room a little bit to have more blue lighting to add to the celestial theme.

I was pretty bummed that I couldn’t add more to this room as I wanted originally due to the limit. Due to this I had to remove a few pieces to add more things so I could finish the room. 😦

And here’s how the dining hall looks now after the updated lighting and moving some furniture around.

I think I prefer the tranquil blue lighting over the normal lighting. It feels super melancholy which is expected due to the kingdom being in mourning but also perfect for the celestial theme. 🙂

The dining hall is currently set for afternoon tea with delicious Berliners, cakes and hot tea beverages. Large feasts are severed here by the castle’s staff during holidays and special events. Residents of Serenity are invited to attend these exquisite feasts as they have expensive and excellent prepared food severed such as juicy succulent turkeys.

A music box that contains the song “I Love You” is placed next to some Casablanca lilies as a form of mourning the loss of the late King Orion. Several royal guards are assigned to their posts and patrol the dining hall when it’s in use.

Upstairs is Eclipse’s sleeping quarters which she once shared with her late husband, his majesty King Orion of Serenity.

The room is incredibly angelic, it’s decorated with lots of merlions that fill the room with tranquil sounds of water to soothe and relax her majesty whilst she’s preparing to sleep in her bed. There’s a giant moon, aurora screens and rainbows to make the room feel dreamy. I added refurbished stained glass windows to finish decorating and to add to the aesthetic of the room to give off a dreamy celestial look but to remind you that this is an enchanted castle.

I decided to add Casablancas lilies to match the rest of the castle and to show that Eclipse is in a state of mourning. I feel like her having these flowers next to her bed where she sleeps every night is a perfect display of her vulnerability. The blue lighting again to give off a dreamy celestial vibe but is also a powerful metaphor of her emotions right now and the deep sorrow of grief that the whole kingdom is also feeling.
