There are plenty of new weapons to unlock in Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 6, from a fresh Assault Rifle to an iconic SMG.
Every new Call of Duty season is packed full of content, and Black Ops 6 Season 6, the final seasonal update before Black Ops 7, is no different. Not only is The Haunting Halloween event back in full force with the likes of Predator and Chucky arriving as Operators, there’s also a stack of new guns on offer.
These include the return of the classic MP-40 SMG, and even a Chainsaw to let you embrace your inner Leatherface. So, here’s every new weapon and how to unlock them.
Dresden 9mm (MP40)
The Dresden 9mm can be unlocked through the Season 6 Battle Pass. It can be found on Page 3, but you’ll need to use Tokens to claim all of the other rewards on that page before you can get your hands on the SMG.
The MP40 is one of the most iconic guns that CoD has to offer, dominating nearly every game it’s appeared in. It looks set to be a strong option once again in BO6 and Warzone, as the devs describe it as a “reliable SMG with a steady recoil pattern that helps you stay on target.”
Merrick 556
Just like the Dresden, the Merrick 556 is also part of the Season 6 Battle Pass. This time, the Assault Rifle is found on Page 6, so it’ll take you a little longer to unlock it, but it should be pretty easy if you’re playing matches regularly.
Although the Merrck is a new AR in Call of Duty, it sounds like it could easily be a meta contender thanks to its high damage and range, especially in Warzone. Just be sure to use attachments to keep its recoil in check.
Chainsaw
If you prefer to get up close and personal, the Chainsaw is coming as part of the Chucky event. There is currently no official release date, but the devs have said it’s arriving “in-season,” so it won’t be available when Season 6 gets underway on October 9.
The melee weapon will be part of the Free Track, so you don’t need to spend any money on the Event Pass; simply play multiplayer, Zombies, or BR when the event is live to unlock it.
X52 Resonator
The most interesting addition in Season 6 is the X52 Resonator, a new special weapon that will be available through the Echoes of the Dead event. There is currently no start date for the event, but again, it’s planned to arrive “in-season,” so it could be after the mid-season update.
This is the long-rumored “wand” weapon, which fires projectiles at a ridiculous rate and range but with low damage. It can also be modified with attachments that completely change how it works, from a multi-shot or seven-round burst to a slower charge shot.
