This LEGO Game Boy set has been the most popular item of the year for the IGN commerce team. It's easy to see why, too. It's relatively inexpensive (LEGO sets get way more expensive), it re-creates a beloved gaming device at a 1:1 size scale, and it just looks awesome.
It's designed to be displayed rather than played with, as is hinted by its 18+ age recommendation. It comes with a stand and numerous lenticular screens that make it look like the image is moving when you look at it from drifferent angles. It comes with two Game Pak cartridges: Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and you can swap in lenticular screens for each, or for the Nintendo start screen.
In any case, if you enjoy the idea of getting awesome items in your hands before you're "supposed to" have them, this set is worth picking up. Then you can bask in the knowledge that you have something many other people want, but they can't have it until October 1.
If you like this set, it's worth mentioning that it's one of many LEGO Nintendo sets available. And if you want to see more recent LEGO sets, check out all the September 2025 LEGO releases below.
