I’m a massive music fan and spend a good deal of time blabbing on TikTok about music history, which focuses mainly on rock and pop music of the '60s and '70s. If you're looking to grab a gift, it's hard to go wrong with the Beatles' Abbey Road. The final album to be recorded by the band (not released) is iconic, and it’s already been discounted, even before the promo. Sticking with classics, The Doors’ The Soft Parade 50th Anniversary Edition is a nice 180-gram album to grab while it’s on sale. Or maybe you're feeling nostalgic after Black Sabbath’s final show last weekend, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath Limited Edition, is even a part of the three-for-two deal.
Now, for those looking for something a bit more modern, let's say early aughts and newer, I’ve found a few excellent albums on sale. Starting strong, Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE Deluxe Edition LP is a vinyl everyone should have in their collection. Tyler, the Creator, is another brilliant artist, and his sixth studio album, IGOR, is one of his best. Want some peaceful, dreamy comfort music? I’d recommend giving Bon Iver’s 22, A Million a listen — nothing relaxes me more than when I hear Justin Vernon get on the mic. If these picks aren’t your cup of tea, “I’m sorry I can’t be perfect.” Wise words from Simple Plan’s album No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls, which is also part of the promo.
There are plenty of other top-tier vinyls that are part of the three-for-two promotion. But no matter which you choose, they all deliver that wonderful analog experience that can’t be replicated anywhere else. It’s hard to beat that ritual of flipping through albums, placing one on the platter, and waiting for the needle to drop. Just be sure you have a great record player to pair with your new vinyl; the last thing you want to do is damage it during its first spin.
