American Pie, the bawdy-yet-heartwarming 1999 teen sex comedy, is getting a new 4K steelbook edition. It includes the theatrical version, the “unrated” version (as was the DVD-release fashion of the time), plus as over three hours of bonus features. The movie comes on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, as well as a digital copy that’s Movies Anywhere compatible. It’s set to release September 30, but it’s available for preorder now.

American Pie Limited-Edition 4K Steelbook Bonus Content

One of the best things about buying physical copies of movies is the bonus features, which aren't typically available on streaming. This one in particular comes with all sorts of extras:

  • Includes 4K UHD, Blu-ray and a digital copy of American Pie (Subject to expiration. Go to NBCUCodes.com for details.)
  • Features Dolby Vision and HDR10, 4x Sharper than Full HD
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Outtakes
  • American Pie Revealed: The Complete Story of All Three Comedies
  • Casting Tapes
  • Spotlight on Location
  • From the Set: Photographic Montage with Director and Producer Comments
  • Tonic "You Wanted More" Music Video
  • Tonic Live Performance
  • Poster Concepts
  • Feature Commentary with Director Paul Weitz, Producer Chris Weitz, Writer Adam Herz and Cast Members Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eddie Kaye Thomas
  • Theatrical Trailer
  • American Reunion: A Look Inside
  • 100 Years of Universal: Unforgettable Characters

What Is Movies Anywhere?

The digital copy that’s included is Movies Anywhere compatible. That means, if you sign up for a free account and redeem your code, you can connect your various streaming services to Movies Anywhere and watch a 4K stream of American Pie on Apple TV, Prime Video, Fandango at Home, and other services as well. It's kind of like if you were to purchase a game on Steam, but you could play it through the Epic Games or Rockstar launcher without having to buy another copy. It’s the kind of cooperation you don't typically see from major corporations. It's quite convenient.
