Animal Crossing: New Leaf Music Arrives On Nintendo Music With Perfect Hourly Sync Feature

New music from the Animal Crossing series has landed on Nintendo Music today, and it works beautifully with a recently introduced hourly track sync feature!

For those unfamiliar, Nintendo Music is an official smartphone app from Nintendo launched last year that provides a library of soundtracks from Nintendo games for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers to listen to for free. About once a week, new game soundtracks are added to the service.

This week, Animal Crossing: New Leaf from the Nintendo 3DS made its debut with new music tracks available from the game including:

  • Opening Theme
  • Opening tutorial music, including On The Train, Welcome to the Village!, and House Hunting
  • Hourly Clear Day music
  • Hourly Rainy Day music
  • Hourly Snowy Day music
  • Main Street area music
  • Indoor facility music, including T&T Mart, Museum, Dream Suite, and The Roost
  • Tortimer Island area music, including mini-game tours
  • Holiday event music, including Bunny Day, Halloween, and Toy Day

In addition to the new tracks from Animal Crossing: New Leaf, a fitting new feature was recently introduced to the Nintendo Music app called Hourly Tracks.

Exclusive to Animal Crossing games, this feature adds a ‘Play Hourly Tracks’ button to playlists for hourly music and automatically syncs to play the current hourly track according to your device’s time when pressed.

Then, the length of the track is automatically extended until the end of the current hour, making it so that the next hour’s music will automatically begin playing on the hour! This process continues in a loop to keep playing the current hourly music from that game and weather’s playlist.

There have been a few unofficial websites and browser extensions over the years with similar functionality, so it’s great to see Nintendo finally embrace the concept with their official Nintendo Music app!

Here’s hoping that the soundtracks from other Animal Crossing games make their way to Nintendo Music soon as well, especially with this new hourly track feature ready to take advantage! Which Animal Crossing game would you like to see added next?
