Embark Studios have shared the patch notes for the Arc Radiers 1.11.0 update, which comes with nerfs to two items that have been dominating the meta for weeks.

The first is a long-awaited nerf to the Kettle, which has been the go-to gun for PC players recently. This was largely due to the use of a Macro, which lets the semi-auto rifle shoot non-stop, giving it an incredible fire rate and damage.

This fire rate has been reduced, alongside a promised damage reduction to the Trigger Nades, as well as a slight delay. These items have been a staple of every top player’s loadout, especially when guarding doors to rooms with valuable loot inside.

Check out the full patch notes for the 1.11.0 update below:

  • Kettle
    • Dev note: Reduced fire rate from 600 to 450. The previous fire rate was only realistically reachable by players using macros, which creates an unfair dynamic that favours using 3rd party software.
  • Trigger ‘Nade
    • Dev note: Trigger ‘Nade currently dominates PVP encounters, and players favour picking it over all our other grenades. This nerf aims to make it less usable as a “trigger-in-air” grenade, whilst keeping its usefulness as a sticky bomb. Damage falloff has been rebalanced to concentrate the damage closer to the center of the explosion, and deal less damage further away. The delay between triggering the grenade and it detonating, has been increased from 0.7s to 1.5s, giving players more time to react, and making it harder to time the detonation in air.
  • Fixed a key card exploit that allowed players to keep room keys after using them.
  • Lighting has been lowered in some areas on Stella Montis Night Raid making flashlights and listening more relevant.

This update also adds the Abyss cosmetic set, which will be available from the store after you install the patch.

The notes also explain that, to celebrate Arc Raiders hitting the milestone of 12 million copies sold, players can get a free gold Gilded Pickaxe Raider Tool by logging in on January 13.
