Embark Studios CEO Patrick Söderlund has revealed that the developer has had offers to make a movie and TV series about their smash hit game Arc Raiders.

Arc Raiders was one of the breakout games of 2025, launching to rave reviews and attracting millions of players. This success has carried on into 2026, with the player count holding firm and sales reportedly ticking over 12 million copies.

After arriving as a new IP, it has quickly become one of the biggest names around, as even South Park referenced it in its Thanksgiving episode.

Now, the CEO of developer Embark Studios has revealed that many studios are interested in giving Arc Raiders its very own big or small screen adaptation.

Arc Raiders devs have been approached about movie or TV show

“I can’t tell you how many companies have reached out wanting to make a TV series [and] movie out of this IP,” CEO Patrick Söderlund said in an interview with GamesBeat, before saying that he thinks the “IP fits quite well” for this kind of adaptation.

However, while he admitted it would be “fun” to see Spreanaza in a film or show, he went on to explain that there is currently nothing officially in the works, as “it needs to be done in the right way.”

Despite being a relatively new series, Arc Raiders does feel primed to make the jump from video games to other media. While the moment-to-moment action is all about the stories that players make for themselves, there’s plenty of lore to explore about the fall of humanity and the underground city of Speranaza.

If anything, the lack of a main story in the game could make a spin-off film or TV show even easier, as it wouldn’t have to worry about messing up the established canon in the way that shows like Fallout or The Last of Us do.

So, while you shouldn’t expect an Arc Raiders adaptation any time soon, if it continues to be as popular as it is right now, the devs definitely aren’t ruling anything out.
