Arc Raiders‘ Community Manager has revealed that the nerf to loot speed in the latest update was an accident, and that a fix should be on the way soon.
Highwinds, the first major Arc Raiders update of 2026, has arrived, bringing a ton of fresh content to Embark’s successful extraction shooter. It introduces plenty of new Quests to complete, as well as a new Bird City event to take part in.
Since the patch went live, players noticed that the speed at which loot reveals itself inside containers was significantly lower, leaving them open to a sucker punch. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the patch notes, leaving many to believe it was a shadow nerf.
Now, however, it’s been confirmed that this change wasn’t intentional at all, and that the team is looking into it.
Arc Raiders devs working on loot speed & fire rate fixes
“The team is aware of this, as it’s not intentional,” Community Manager ‘Birdie’ wrote in the official Arc Raiders Discord.
Unfortunately, they didn’t give any sort of timeline as to when the issue would be fixed, but if the devs are aware of the problem, it shouldn’t be too long before a patch rolls out.
It turns out this wasn’t the problem that slipped through the net, either, as other players pointed out that the fire rate of some weapons has changed since Highwinds arrived, causing some to shoot slower than before. But don’t worry, a different Community Admin, ‘Ossen,’ explained that it wasn’t an intentional nerf, and the team is also aware of this issue.
“We have seen your reports about the changes in fire rate. The team is actively investigating and we will keep you posted,” she wrote.
