The Arc Raiders Shrouded Sky update introduced a major nerf to Wolfpack grenades, the most widely used item for taking down powerful enemies, and the decision has split the community.

These deadly items are throwable explosives that automatically lock onto the nearest Arc enemy, splitting into multiple grenades that deal huge damage to large groups or a single big target. They quickly became the go-to method for taking on Leapers, Matriarchs, and The Queen.

After you found the Blueprint, it was also very easy to craft them, as it only required a couple of resources that were fairly easy to come by. So, if a raider were hunting Arc for a Project, they would often load into a run with tons of Wolfpacks in their inventory, knowing they could be easily replaced.

However, with the latest update, you now need a Driver from Rocketeer to craft a Wolfpack, which is ironically one of the enemies players used to use the grenades on. This makes them much tougher to get hold of, even if you previously found the Blueprint.

As you might expect, the news has divided Arc Raiders players, as some have called the change “insane.” Others argue that this extra requirement now places you in a loop of needing to use a Wolfpack to craft a Wolfpack.

“It’s f***ing stupid,” wrote a frustrated player on X. “You need two Wolfpack for killing one rocketeer and you have only one rocketeer driver if you loot a rocketeer. So I need to kill two rocketeers to kill one? Who made that terrible choice?”

However, there are also those who believe that, as one Reddit user put it, “Wolfpacks were too easy to craft and trivialized the game.”

“I agree… once I found the BP and could craft Wolfpacks, [I was] basically running around the map killing all the large Arcs quickly without even needing to look at them,” added another. “Just throw Wolfpacks in their general direction and they’re gone, no skill required.”
