It’s no secret that Arc Raiders has been quite the success since it was released back on October 30. Since then, its player count has skyrocketed as fans and critics alike have been praising its weapons, gameplay, and all those tough-to-beat enemies.

Arc Raiders sits in a rather busy crowd of extremely popular multiplayer shooters, which means it’s so much harder for an unknown release to outshine industry giants like CoD, Battlefield, and Fortnite.

Well, that’s exactly what Arc Raiders has managed to do, and is now officially the highest-rated multiplayer shooter, surpassing some of the most classic in its genre.

Arc Raiders surpasses classics as highest-rated multiplayer shooter

As reported by GamesRadar, Arc Raiders has an impressive score of 93 on OpenCritic and a score of a perfect 100 from players.

This is a world away from its competitors like Overwatch 2, which has a rating of 77 from critics and a lower 60 from players. Apex Legends is slightly higher but still overshadowed by Arc Raiders, with an 81 from critics and 70 from players. Even Counter Strike 2, which is consistently one of the most popular multiplayer shooters, has a critic score of 80 and a player score of 70.

Interestingly, even Battlefield 6, which releases not long before Arc Raiders, has a lower score (84 from critics and 90 from its players), though it’s certainly the closest to beating the popular new release.

Of course, a lot of its competitors have been out for years now, so it stands to reason that a new release would get a high score as fans settle in or give a negative rating to a longer-lasting game after a problematic update.

Arc Raiders’ score will also change as it releases upcoming features, but for now, it certainly looks like its popularity is here to stay.
