Arc Raiders players have reported that developer Embark Studios has been reimbursing lost items after matches where cheaters were present, stating it’s committed to making sure the extraction shooter’s “gameplay is about skill.”
Players shared screenshots and details on Reddit, showing in-game mail from the developers informing them that items lost due to “unfair play” had been restored to their accounts.
The item returns come amid wider concerns about cheaters in Arc Raiders, which have placed pressure on the developer.
Embark has addressed concerns around cheating and enforcement, pledging to take action as part of ongoing efforts to improve competitive integrity.
Players praise Embark’s response to cheating
In the in-game mail shown by players, Embark wrote that their items were lost due to unfair play but had been returned so they could continue their “next journey Topside.”
The message added that the studio is committed to building “an environment where gameplay is about skill, teamwork, and fun, not unfair advantages,” thanking players for supporting the mission.
Arc Raiders has faced mounting criticism from parts of the community over the prevalence of cheaters, especially as high-profile streamers called out exploits and unfair advantages that impacted the experience for legitimate players.
Embark’s earlier public response acknowledged those issues and emphasised that the company was actively working on tools and policies to curb cheat use and punish offenders.
