ARC Raiders players have spotted a new massive ARC Threat during the Shrouded Sky update’s Hurricane event, and it appears to be one of the largest machines ever seen in the game.
The Shrouded Sky update v1.17.0 launched on February 24, introducing a permanent Hurricane map condition alongside new enemies like the Firefly and Comet. The storm system dramatically alters visibility and movement, which maybe why it was chosen to reveal a new massive ARC threat.
Now, during those hurricane matches, players are reporting sightings of a previously unseen ARC moving high above the clouds, and it’s bigger than the Queen and Matriarch.
New skyborne ARC spotted during Hurricane matches
The Emperor is currently one of ARC Raiders’ most intimidating threats. These colossal, spider-like machines are often visible in the skybox or distant backgrounds of maps like Blue Gate and Buried City, dwarfing Queen-tier ARCs and looming as a constant reminder of the larger invasion.
The machine seen during Hurricane conditions appears to be the Emperor’s flying counterpart.
While players initially noticed two bright searchlights and a loud mechanical buzzing cutting through the storm, paused footage reveals a clearer silhouette. Through the heavy wind and reduced visibility, the ARC’s outline shows a massive central body with wide, extended structures on either side.
It does not resemble a traditional spider-like frame, but instead appears more like a large aerial platform or gunship-scale machine hovering above the clouds.
Two powerful beams shine down from the underside, scanning the battlefield below as the machine disappears into the storm. The entire encounter lasts only a few moments, but its scale appears significantly larger than other massive threats, putting it closer in size to Emperor-tier ARC.
