Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ next major DLC is coming soon to the stealth adventure, and it’s set to add a rather familiar Ally, if you’re a Critter that is.
Back in May, we got the first story drop for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, otherwise known as The Works of Luis Frois, which provided a side quest for the named character. Now, the second story drop is on its way on June 25, bringing a brand new ally to Yasuke and Naoe’s fights.
If you’re a fan of Critical Role, or have come across their oneshot (singular story in one session in D&D terms) back in January then the chances are, you’ll recognise the upcoming Ally. But either way, they’ve finally been revealed.
Robbie Daymond to play next Assassin’s Creed Shadows ally
As announced by Robbie Daymond and the Assassin’s Creed X account, it was revealed that Daymond’s character he played back in the Critical Role Shadows one-shot will be the next Ally to arrive in the game, being based solely on his creation. This is a first for Critical Role, and for Assassin’s Creed to take a premade character and make them an Ally.
Named Rufino, Daymond once described him as “always having a shadow to step out of,” making it clear he’s going to be a stealth character who, like Naoe, thrives in remaining unseen.
We also got a glimpse at his character design in which he’s repping a rather dashing mustache and carrying what looks to be a pistol, which isn’t an available weapon for Yasuke or Naoe. Given Naoe’s getting a Bo Staff soon, this could be a subtle hint regarding a new weapon for Yasuke.
He’ll be an ally for both Yasuke and Naoe, and while we don’t know what the story will entail, you’ll end up being able to recruit him for free on June 25.
Naturally, Rufino will be voiced by Robbie Daymond, so expect to hear his voice as you’re sneaking around Feudal Japan.
