Developer Mysteria Studio has revealed a new third-person, narrative-driven action-RPG inspired by RPG classics from the early-2000s called Asterfel. It's in development for PC (via Steam). It's a dark fantasy game in which you, playing as a literal washed-up adventurer (by way of the shipwreck you suffered), find yourself trying to gain power and favor on Asterfel – an island in which the King's mines have dug up an old slumbering god (amongst other horrors).

In Asterfel, you can choose to align with one of three different factions: the loyal-to-the-King Crown Wardens, the rebellious Kindred who seek to free the oppressed people of the land, and the mages known as the Scholars. As such, combat can be very different in your playthrough depending on your faction and include swords, bows and arrows, or arcane runes.

Asterfel's developers promise a "sprawling open world filled with arid landscapes, forgotten ruins, dense jungles, and ancient mysteries. But danger lurks behind every corner. The further you travel, the more lethal your foes become—and the deeper the secrets you’ll uncover."

Wishlist Asterfel on Steam if you're interested.
