Battlefield 6 has launched into its Open Beta with over 200,000 players already looking to jump into the fight. However, it’s also reaching unprecedented numbers on other platforms.
It was no secret that Battlefield 6 was going to be huge upon release. After its launch trailers and gameplay deep dives, player hype was at an all-time high, which has directly translated to its current Open Beta, which spans from August 7 to August 10.
However, August 7 and 8 see the Open Beta in early access, limiting the player count to those lucky enough to get a code via Twitch drops. But that doesn’t mean the hype has been limited, as it’s already crushing other platforms like Twitch and Steam.
Battlefield 6 has over half a million viewers on Twitch
At the time of writing, Battlefield 6 has over 600,000 viewers and climbing on Twitch, making it the most watched game on the site by a considerable amount.
For comparison, the second most watched game on Twitch right now is League of Legends, which has just over 100,000 viewers, meaning Battlefield is being watched by half a million more people.
This is likely due to the number of players who want to see what Battlefield 6 plays like, but didn’t manage to get hold of an early access code. We expect this number to rise during the day and especially over the weekend.
Steam Charts prove unprecedented popularity for Battlefield 6
That’s not all, as Steam is also seeing a huge player count for the Open Beta, meaning not all fans are simply watching.
At the time of writing, according to Steam Charts, the Battlefield 6 Open Beta is the fourth most played game on Steam, with over 190,000 concurrent players on the one platform alone. This isn’t accounting for EA Play or console.
