As Battlefield 6 finally has its long-awaited launch, players have been left stuck in server queues with more than 300,000 people in front of them.

As soon as BF6 went live on October 10, players quickly reported being placed into lengthy queues. I got off lightly with a queue position of 186,000, but others shared positions as high as 354,000.

A similar situation occurred during the, as there were server queues stretching well over 200,000 players. But with the full game now live, players are having to wait even longer to get in.

Now, the devs have responded to those waiting to get in, posting:

“With the game now live, many of you are jumping in at the same time. To help keep things smooth and stable for everyone, login queues are active during this peak launch moment. We’re letting as many of you in as we can, so queues should be relatively short.”

They also added a helpful tip for anyone who bought BF6 on Steam.

“Steam users please note that if the “Play” button does not show, restarting the Steam client will resolve this issue,” they said.

It’s also important to note that DICE did warn fans about the queue system, as they put out another post a couple of hours before launch.

“Battlefield 6 launches today at 15:00UTC and we anticipate many of you to login at the same time during this initial moment,” they said in on X. “To help ensure a smooth and stable login experience for everyone, we’re adding a queue system during this and other peak moments.”

Server queues have become a common sight in online games, especially on launch day. The idea is to manage the number of players dropping into the game at any given time to ensure that the servers can cope.

This reduces the likelihood of joining laggy matches or disconnecting altogether, but means that you might have to wait a little longer to finally jump in.
