Battlefield 6’s anti-cheat system, Javelin, has already prevented more than 300,000 attempts from bad actors to cheat or bypass security measures during its open beta period.

On the official EA forums, the publisher revealed that since the beta began, 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with Battlefield 6’s anti-cheat measures were successfully prevented as of August 8.

The team also confirmed they received over 100,000 player reports of suspected cheating over the first two days of the beta.

While player reports and the decision to require Secure Boot aren’t catch-all safeguards, the post explained their importance, how they feed into the Gameplay Integrity and Battlefield Positive Play teams, and constitute another layer in the developer’s arsenal to curb anti-social online activity.

Developers warn that fighting cheaters is “an ever evolving battlefield”

“Anti-Cheat isn’t one and done, it’s an ever-evolving battlefield, and what has worked for us previously or in different games doesn’t always work in all of them,” the update explained, further emphasizing that Javelin’s Secure Boot requirement “helps us make it harder for cheat developers to create cheat programs.”

Despite the proactive approach to curbing cheating in Battlefield 6 as early as beta tests, the measures obviously haven’t been foolproof. Numerous players have reported encountering cheats of varying severity, including spoofers and blatant wallhacks.
