DICE have reduced the number of tickets on all Conquest maps in Battlefield 6 in an effort to make matches faster, but players are furious with the change.

On October 13, the devs shared an X post revealing that the number of tickets, i.e respawns, has been reduced across the board. In most cases, it has gone from 1,000 to 900 or 800, but on maps like Operation Firestorm, New Sobek City, and Mirak Valley, it’s down to 700.

They explained that the reason for this is that “many rounds were hitting the time limit instead of ending when one team ran out of tickets,” so cutting down the number of lives makes matches end more naturally.

However, players are frustrated that the game’s marquee mode is being made even shorter. Battlefield 6 already made a drastic change by introducing a time limit, meaning that matches that would have lasted closer to 40 minutes in previous games are over in half that time this year.

So, this latest change that looks set to make it even faster hasn’t gone down well with players, with many arguing that they should have just increased or removed the time limit altogether.

“Why won’t they just remove the time limit instead? FFS,” said one angry fan on Reddit, before another responded: “Exactly, BF4 conquest matches used to last 30-45 minutes. This doesn’t make any sense.”

Others felt that making Conquest matches shorter takes away the magic of turning around a losing situation at the last minute.

“RIP the comebacks on close games. Will miss those matches that you are losing 300 – 200 and at the end you end up winning 0 – 32.”

Some even accused Battlefield 6 of catering to the Call of Duty players who have made the jump, as that series historically features much shorter matches.

“All of these new CoD generational gamers need their 10-minute rush and then go to the next match,” said one player, while another added: “I guess the COD tourists are more important than the ones who would be playing the game in 2 years time.”

The devs did say that they would be monitoring feedback about the change, so it’s possible that it could be reverted in a future update. For now, though, don’t expect Conquest matches to drag on for too long.
