Battlefield 6 players are calling for major changes, as there’s a weapon feature that’s messing up their aim and causing them to miss easy shots.
So far, the Battlefield 6 launch has been an overwhelming success for DICE and EA. Its player count on Steam quickly overtook Call of Duty’s peak shortly after launch, and many were stuck in server queues over 300,000 long on launch day.
However, there have been a few issues that the devs have needed to iron out, from limited crossplay causing console lobbies to be full of bots, to some players being locked out altogether.
But another common complaint has been weapon bloom, which players claim is much more noticeable compared to the beta, and it’s wreaking havoc during fights.
BF6 players slam “awful” weapon bloom
Weapon bloom is a mechanic that adds a degree of randomness to each shot you fire, meaning that not every bullet lands exactly where you aim. It’s present in most FPS titles to varying degrees, but after fans complained that the beta’s weapons were too easy to use, it appears to have been cranked up in the final release.
“This bloom makes the game so much worse,” said Reddit user ‘Dnc601,’ while posting a video showing countless missed shots. “Extremely inconsistent. Feels awful.”
They were far from alone, either, as plenty of other players either responded or made their own social media posts highlighting the issue.
“Why is this not being talked about more? This is such a massive problem,” said one reply.
Popualr streamer Metaphor also agreed, posting on X: “They need to adjust the bloom in Battlefield 6 badly. Especially before the BR drops.
“Bloom should be significantly REDUCED & actual gun recoil should be INCREASED,” added BF6 stats page Battlefield 6 Meta. “To hit targets at range you should learn how to control the gun rather than let RNG decide where your bullet goes.”
Right now, every weapon in Battlefield 6 has its own specific stats when it comes to bloom, so certain weapons are affected more severely than others. For example, players have reported that many of the LMGs are tricky to use, while ARs and SMGs seem to be on the easier end.
