Pedro Pascal recently made his MCU debut as Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and now his Last of Us co-star Bella Ramsey has spoken about joining, saying they “could be Spider-Man” – but there’s another superhero they should play instead.

Let’s not get it twisted, Ramsey’s comment was tongue-in-cheek. They were asked by Variety whether they’d spoken to Pascal about a role in a future Marvel movie, to which Ramsey replied, “I don’t know about that.”

However, Ramsey added, “I could be Spider-Man. Tom Holland did a great job though. So maybe they do need to make a new [superhero] for me.” As many of you will know, Holland is currently filming scenes for Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Even though we’ve got our Peter Parker, a report last month suggested that The Last of Us actor is being “eyed” for an upcoming MCU project – and there’s one superhero they’d be perfect for.

Bella Ramsey MCU role could be Squirrel Girl

While there are plenty of rumors Ramsey should play Kitty Pryde, another name has been put forward: Doreen Green, aka Squirrel Girl.

First introduced in Marvel Super-Heroes Vol. 2 #8 back in 1991, Squirrel Girl is one of Marvel’s most unconventional but beloved heroes. She has the ability to (you guessed it) communicate with squirrels, as well as having enhanced agility and strength.

Don’t let her comical powers fool you – she’s helped to defeat villains like Doctor Doom, Thanos (or at least his clone), and Galactus (although the latter involved brains over brawn). She’s also teamed up with the Avengers, Luke Cage, Iron Man, and even Spider-Man

Squirrel Girl has the potential to be to the new Avengers what Rocket was to the Guardians of the Galaxy. Think about it: when James Gunn first introduced Rocket, the idea of a talking raccoon with a blaster sounded absurd, but he soon became a fan favorite.

Plus, Ramsey would be a natural fit for the role. They’ve already proven in The Last of Us that they can balance humor, emotional vulnerability, and strength, which is exactly what makes Squirrel Girl so endearing.

Plenty of fans agree, with one writing on Reddit, “Squirrel Girl, calling it now.” Another said on X/Twitter, “Bella Ramsey is actually perfect for the role of Squirrel Girl.”

A third added, “Can Marvel hire Bella Ramsey to play Squirrel Girl and piss everyone off? I would honestly love to see it.”
