Treyarch’s Matt Scronce has revealed a host of changes to perks ahead of the Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta.
Multiplayer betas have become a big part of the pre-release cycle for Call of Duty. Over the last few releases, beta weekends have allowed players to get an early feel for the weapons that might dominate the meta.
Black Ops 7 is expanding on that as well. The beta, which gets underway on October 2, will feature Zombies for the first time ever. Though, it’s the traditional modes that fans will focus on.
That will include six maps, 14 weapons, and five game modes – including the all-new Overload mode. Naturally, fans will also get to test out the new scorestreaks and perks too, with the latter already seeing some changes.
Three Black Ops 7 perks changed already
That’s right, Matt Scronce, Treyarch’s Design Director, has revealed that three perks have swapped slots.
“Dexerity from Perk 1 to Perk 3, Scavenger from Perk 2 to Perk 1, and Looper from Perk 3 to Perk 2,” Scronce announced on September 25.
“We pulled the trigger on a few Perk changes for the upcoming Black Ops 7 Beta based off of feedback this week. We will, of course, gather data and feedback throughout the Beta and make additional adjustments for launch. Thanks!” he added.
That initial feedback had come following a playtest involving a number of Call of Duty League professionals and responses from ex-pro Christian ‘Parasite’ Duarte on X (formerly Twitter).
Scronce has been on hand to regularly address feedback, including the returning health bars, how fast the Time to Kill (TTK) is, and what maps might be added down the line to Black Ops 7.
