Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 arrives on November 14, but there have been rumors around the game dropping early, with either the full release date being moved up or the special editions granting early access. However, Activision have confirmed this isn’t the case.
One of the first rumors came from streamer Scump shortly after Battlefield 6 launched, when he said there’s still a month until Black Ops 7’s launch, “unless they release it early, which I have heard some rumors they were thinking of pushing the release date up a week.”
Then, reliable leaker TheGhostOfHope said in an X post on October 20, “Seems like there’s some evidence of a potential release date change for Black Ops 7 where it could move up a week. Not sure I buy it yet but would be a pleasant surprise if it happens.”
Alongside these rumors, there have been other signs that have players convinced. The PlayStation Game Size account, which gets its info from PlayStation’s data, said Campaign/Zombies is set to release on November 10.
However, it also has multiplayer set to drop on November 17, which would be three days after launch. “The size and release time may change, but these are the current listed details,” they said on October 31.
Some also showed their PlayStation’s in-game counter, which shows that the game will be playable on October 10.
Shortly before Activision’s statement denying the rumors, Forbes posted an article that said, “Pre-orders are live now across all platforms with Vault Edition offering premium rewards and early access starting November 11,” which was further confirmation for some. It has since been updated “Following a conversation with representatives from Activision.”
Despite all of rumors and apparent signs, Activision confirmed to CharlieIntel that Black Ops 7 will launch on Friday, November 14, and there’s no early access.
The only time Call of Duty has had an early access period was with 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 and 2023’s Modern Warfare 3, where digital pre-orders could access the campaign a week early. It was scrapped for Black Ops 6 and, as confirmed by Activision, won’t be in Black Ops 7 either.
