A new Black Ops 7 leak has revealed just how many maps the next Call of Duty title will have upon launch in multiplayer, and it includes the three classic ones that have already leaked.

Whenever the cycle of a new Call of Duty game starts up, fans get excited about what could be coming thanks to a vast amount of leaks and rumors. Some of these are inherently false, but they build up expectations regardless.

When it comes to Black Ops 7, there have been a number of leaks that appear to have weight behind them. We’ve seen that with regards to both Warzone and campaign, including a 32-player final mission in the story that will combine both modes.

As for multiplayer, there has been a raft of leaks about abilities, guns, and, of course, maps. It looks like three of Black Ops’ most iconic settings, including Raid, Hijacked, and Express will return.

Black Ops 7 to have 16 launch multiplayer maps

On top of that, renowned leaker GhostOfHope has claimed that the game will launch with 16 multiplayer maps. That figure is made up of 13 new maps and three classic ones.

These are set to be joined by two other “large-scale maps” which will be for the previously leaked 20v20 Skirmish mode.

Additionally, the leaker claims that the maps will be “more colorful than the ones in Black Ops 6” and are closer to the maps we saw in Cold War.

16 maps is the same number of launch maps that Black Ops 6 had, but is more than both Cold War and even Black Ops 4 had. Even discounting the three remasters of classic maps, 13 new virtual battlefields are still more than the other two games as well.

Compared to Modern Warfare 3 (2023), which was also the second year of a series being used, that didn’t include any new maps until post-launch. MW3 launched with 16 maps, all from the original Modern Warfare 2.

MW3 2023 ended up with 19 post-launch maps too, including additional “large-scale” maps. Which, would be good news for Black Ops 7.

A worldwide reveal of Black Ops 7 takes place on August 19, so we will likely know more then as well.
