A new Black Ops 7 leak has revealed that the upcoming shooter will launch with three iconic maps from Black Ops 2.
For months before Black Ops 7 was officially unveiled, there were plenty of leaks and rumors suggesting that the game would feature every BO2 map, much like Modern Warfare 3 (2023) launched with every map from the original MW2.
This soon proved to be untrue when the BO7 website promised “a signature Multiplayer experience packed with brand-new maps,” confirming that it wouldn’t just be remasters available on day one.
However, a new leak has revealed that we can expect a handful of BO2 maps to be there at launch, and they’re three of the most beloved options from that game.
Three of Black Ops 2’s best maps are coming to BO7
According to well-known leaker ‘TheGhostOfHope,’ who has accurately revealed plenty of CoD news in the past, Black Ops 7 will arrive with Raid, Express, and Hijacked.
Raid is often regarded as one of the series’ best ever maps, taking place in a large mansion in the Hollywood Hills. It returned in Black Ops Cold War, albeit without the futuristic aesthetic that will be right at home in BO7.
The same is true for Express, which is set inside a railway station with a fully explorable train in the middle. It was first introduced back in 2012 and returned in BOCW.
Hijacked, on the other hand, which sees players fighting on a luxury yacht out at sea, has returned multiple times over the years. Not only did it appear in BOCW and BO4’s Blackout mode as a POI, it also got remade into Skyjacked in BO3, which swapped the boat for a floating airship.
Based on the leak, it appears that these could be the only Black Ops 2 maps included in Black Ops 7 when it first releases. However, that doesn’t mean that some or all of the remaining 13 maps won’t be added as part of seasonal updates.
