The Sturmwolf 45 has been the go-to SMG in Warzone since it arrived in Season 1 Reloaded, but after being given a huge buff, there’s a new gun that looks set to steal its throne.
Warzone Season 1 Reloaded shook up the meta in a number of ways. Not only did it bring crucial buffs and nerfs to keep things feeling fresh, but it also threw some powerful new weapons into the mix.
Arguably the strongest of them all was the Sturmwolf 45, which instantly became the best SMG in the game thanks to its rapid TTK and low recoil. Since then, it’s been largely unchallenged when it comes to close-quarters fights.
That’s all about to change, though, as the most recent update gave a massive buff to the Razor 9mm, and it’s ready to go toe-to-toe with the new SMG.
Razor 9mm is Warzone’s best SMG after huge buff
In the January 22 patch, the Razor was given a slight buff to its medium damage range, which by itself isn’t a game-changer. However, when you reach the additional adjustments, you can see that it’s been given a substantial boost across the board.
It now does more damage when hitting the upper torso and arms, two of the most common targets, and its recoil has been reduced in all directions. Pair that with noticeable movement buffs, and you’re left with the best all-around SMGs that Warzone has to offer.
Using the CODMunity tool, we compared the Razor 9mm with other meta close-range weapons, and the results are clear as day.
Up to 12 meters, where the vast majority of short-distance fights take place, it has a TTK of just 540ms, which no other SMG can compete with. Meanwhile, the Sturmwolf 45 and Carbon 57 are stuck on 558ms and 560ms, respectively.
It does drop off slightly once you get into the mid-range, but this is where an Assault Rifle like the M15 Mod 0 comes into play. But if you play to its strengths, there is literally no SMG that can outgun the Razor 9mm in Season 1 Reloaded.
