Call of Duty 7 Warzone’s future Verdansk map changes took the spotlight at COD Next, where two new points of interest were revealed to players for the very first time.

Verdansk has always been defined by familiar landmarks, from all-out battles inside Superstore to tense showdowns across Stadium and beyond.

At the showcase, Activision confirmed that Season 1 will expand that history with two significant updates: a brand new tactical location in the north, and the return of a fan-favorite industrial hub that many players will instantly recognize.

New POIs lighting up Verdansk

Signal Station (new) and Factory (returning) are joining Verdansk in Season 1 of Call of Duty Black Ops 7, one reinventing the north and the other reigniting nostalgia.

Signal Station towered over the treeline with massive radar domes visible from almost anywhere on the map. At COD Next, developers described it as “modern, clean, eye-popping.”

Inside, tight server rooms and winding control corridors offered claustrophobic gunfights. The headline feature was its Tactical Heat Map. Shown live during the broadcast, it displayed player density across Verdansk. “It shows threat levels all around you,” developers explained, allowing aggressive players to hunt red zones and cautious ones to skirt the danger.

Factory felt familiar but sharper. Returning from Verdansk ’84, it kept its recognizable layout while switching purpose to rocket manufacturing.

During the showcase, High Moon Studios noted “we purposefully kept the layout the same,” but added improved lighting, sharper visuals, and numbered rooftops for easier callouts.

The footage highlighted towering missiles hanging from cranes and wide industrial floors begging for mid-range fights. “We tend to really find success when we strike the right balance between fan favorite returns… and then a brand-new addition,” developers added.

The combination was deliberate. As they explained on stage, Factory would scratch nostalgia while Signal Station pulled players north into underused terrain. “We wanted to breathe life into areas that hadn’t seen much action,” the team said.
