Chicken and waffles fans are finally getting what they’ve asked for. Chick-fil-A is officially testing a new Chicken & Waffles Sandwich — but only in select markets, starting December 1.

According to Parade, the test is rolling out in Baltimore, Maryland, and San Antonio, Texas. Baltimore locations will reportedly serve two versions of the sandwich: a breakfast size and a larger lunch-and-dinner option. San Antonio’s test, meanwhile, will stick to the breakfast menu. Both feature Chick-fil-A’s signature crispy chicken paired with smoked bacon and warm maple waffles.

The launch was initially expected to begin in early November, but several Baltimore-area franchise posts confirmed it was postponed to December 1 to ensure “waffle supply quality.” Customers in the test regions can also reportedly order a single maple waffle with syrup on the side — a limited local bonus item.

Chick-fil-A fans are already buzzing online

Social media reactions across Maryland have been overwhelmingly positive, with some fans saying they’d drive hours to try the new sandwich. Chick-fil-A’s Baltimore-area restaurants — including Westminster, Waugh Chapel, and Linthicum — have all teased the test on Facebook, calling it “the perfect mix of sweet and savory.”

A Chick-fil-A spokesperson told Parade that guests should check with individual stores for availability and hours, noting that San Antonio’s trial will be “breakfast only.” The company frequently tests limited items before expanding nationwide, as seen earlier this year with the Pretzel Cheddar Club.

If the Chicken & Waffles Sandwich performs well, it could join that list, marking one of the most requested menu additions in the chain’s history.
