Chinese company Honor has unveiled the “Robot Phone,” a concept smartphone with a camera that moves, tracks, and even shows emotion.

Announced in an official post on X, Honor described the device as a “revolutionary AI phone” that combines multi-modal intelligence, advanced robotics, and next-generation imaging.

The company framed it as the evolution “from iPhone, to AI Phone, to the Robot Phone,” which it hopes will distinguish it from Apple’s products.

New “Robot Phone” can sing & react

The teaser video, which appears to be largely AI-generated, shows a smartphone that has a rear camera that unfolds via a motorized arm, which can tilt, pan, and rotate freely. It appears to track movement automatically, following a person’s face and repositioning itself in real time.

While Honor is yet to officially reveal a release date or price, the Robot Phone does more than just snap pictures and take videos. In one clip, it is shown soothing a crying baby by softly singing, while another scene depicts it staring up at the stars alongside its human companion. The lens itself also moves expressively, nodding and tilting as if reacting to what it sees.

Honor also took a not-so-subtle dig at Apple in its announcement, saying: “While the industry is busy comparing the iPhone, we believe it’s time to break the mold and refocus on what truly matters: creating real value for you.”

While Honor hasn’t shared specifications or a release window, they confirmed that more details will be revealed at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona.
