The GTA 3 Definitive Edition is currently free on the iOS App Store, but grab it while you can, as the offer might not be around forever.
The Grand Theft Auto series is one of the most successful and critically acclaimed franchises in the history of gaming, but long before GTA 5 became the fastest-selling entertainment product of all time when it launched back in 2013, it was GTA 3 that changed the course of open-world games forever.
It abandoned the top-down perspective of previous entries in favor of the third-person action we know and love, and let players loose in the sprawling Liberty City.
Now, you can play this ground-breaking title for free without even needing a console or PC nearby.
GTA 3 Definitive Edition free on iOS App Store
As spotted by Reddit user ‘Imarti_g7,’ GTA 3 – The Definitive Edition is currently available to download for free from the App Store, down from $20.
So, if you’ve never played the 2001 classic or just want to relive it, now is the ideal time, as long as you own an Apple device that runs iOS 16 or later. Just make sure it’s the Definitive Edition, as the original version is still priced at $6.99.
The discovery has left fans a little confused, though, as there was no previous announcement from Rockstar before the price was slashed. Plus, the game is still full price on Android, and it only appears to be the US App Store, so it’s not clear right now if this is an intentional giveaway or an accident.
Either way, it’s best to act fast and claim the GTA 3 remaster for yourself before the mistake is fixed or the offer ends.
