Call of Duty Black Ops 7’s beta is underway and fans have already had enough of the new doors system in the new game.

For the longest time, Call of Duty’s multiplayer maps didn’t have working doors. Buildings had empty door frames for you to run through, but if you saw a door, it meant you couldn’t go any further.

From Black Ops 2 onwards, automatic doors started making an appearance, but Modern Warfare (2019) introduced the rage-inducing manual doors. Their introduction was supposed to bring more tactical nuance to pushing hardpoints and bomb sites, but it just caused headaches instead.

They’ve been around in the games since, but Treyarch confirmed that manual doors would have no place in Black Ops 7.

Black Ops 7’s doors are ruining beta

A handful of doors were replaced by automatic options, but as the beta has gotten underway, fans aren’t happy with those either.

“These automatic doors being everywhere just ensured they are closed all the damn time. It blocks off so many lines of sight,” one fan complained. Another added that the new doors are “infinitely worse and do nothing but promote camping behind them.”

Call of Duty legend Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow also chimed in. “These god damn doors…I don’t like them at all lol,” he said.

Some have already called for the doors to be completely removed, too. “Remove doors completely. I know you were trying the bo4 style, but we don’t need them at all,” Tyler ‘TDAWG’ Smith asked.

“There are way too f**king many sliding doors on Bo7, who the f*ck thought that was a good idea,” Soar’s Zelta added.

Others suggested adding a destructible option for the doors, so if you shoot them or hit them with explosives, they’d disappear.

As noted, Treyarch confirmed that they decided to remove all manual doors during development and have already started work on new maps for seasonal updates. So, lets hope they take the feedback on board.
