Viral shoe store Cool Kicks has responded after clips of it being raided by the Los Angeles Police Department were posted on TikTok.

The store has gained attention on social media thanks to one of its employees, Rami, who posts clips of himself negotiating with customers who bring in shoes to sell. With millions of views across nearly every app, the store has been visited by some of the biggest celebrities and influencers.

On October 4, 2025, clips of the LA-based company being raided by the police began circulating across social media, with claims that they were caught selling fake shoes to customers after the owner, Adeel Shams, was arrested.

Cool Kicks has since issued a response, debunking the counterfeit shoe rumors and shining more light on the situation in the process.

In a post on Instagram, Cool Kicks said that the LAPD impounded a “small allotment” of sneakers that were reported stolen.

“Yesterday, the LAPD impounded a small allotment of Nike sneakers that Coolkicks purchased and received within the last 48 hours, alleging that the merchandise was stolen,” they said. “This news came as a complete shock to our entire team.

“Neither Coolkicks leadership, nor our staff, had any knowledge or reason to believe that these products were stolen. We entered into this purchase in good faith, as we always have, committed to running an honest business built on integrity and trust.”

They added: “It is important to clarify: there have been no allegations whatsoever from law enforcement that any of the products were counterfeit.”

Rami addressed the situation at the beginning of his YouTube video as well, revealing that it was the warehouse that got raided and not the actual storefront.

“One thing I can assure you guys is that the situation has nothing to do with some fake shoes or selling fake sneakers,” he said.
