Developer Dusty Box has officially announced its old-school-inspired single-player survival-horror game, Cult of Blood. In it, you play a police officer investigating vampires who ends up discovering a secret village of worshippers in a blood cult. Dusty Box says it's inspired by a true story. It's due out next year for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Classic Resident Evil fans might appreciate Cult of Blood's "fixed camera angles, dramatic cutscenes, and refined tank-style controls," while combat is "chaotic and unforgiving" while "ammunition is limited but not absent, forcing you to weigh every shot carefully." Check out the announcement trailer above and the first screenshots in the gallery below.
You'll find new gear and be able to upgrade it using blood souls as you fight off a possible fate as the final piece of a cult priestess's ritual to ascend as a goddess.
You can try out Cult of Blood for yourself by playing the demo (and/or wishlisting the game while you're there) on Steam.
