According to new analyst predictions, CD Projekt Red’s next trip back to Night City could be years away, with the current outlook pushing the launch deep into the next decade.

Cyberpunk 2077 launched back in December 2020 after years of hype, multiple delays, and intense scrutiny. While its debut was overshadowed by performance issues, CD Projekt Red spent years rebuilding trust through updates, expansions, and a renewed focus on quality, which turned the adventure into a beloved game that’s still got a solid fanbase over five years later.

Fans are desperate for a sequel, but Cyberpunk 2 is still a long way off. Recent projections point to a tentative release window in Q4 2030, alongside a pretty impressive reported production budget.

Cyberpunk 2 release window & budget predicted by analysts

According to Polish analytics firm Noble Securities, the Cyberpunk sequel is still in an expansion phase. In a post translated from Polish to English, the firm stated:

“Regarding the Cyberpunk sequel, Noble Securities indicates that the team working on the project as part of the studio’s second key franchise consists of 135 people and is expected to double in size within two years. The desire to integrate multiplayer into production prompted us to extend production time beyond the progress of work on the benchmark W4. As a result, the budget has increased to PLN 1.5 billion, and we expect the release in Q4 2030 (the 10th anniversary of CP77).”

Based on this, it’s expected that Cyberpunk 2 will be released in late 2030, which follows the December release of the first game.

On top of that, the budget doesn’t appear to be differing too much from the amount spent on Cyberpunk 2077, coming in at roughly $419 million, which is only a moderate increase from the reported $436 million seen in the first game.
