Gone are the days of the duff spare controller for player two that looks like it was found on the Death Star trash compactor (I'm looking at you, MadCatz). Third-party brands like PowerA are seriously upping their game with controllers that function just as well as first party, often with much needed features and seriously cool designs. I've found four great deals on their best Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch 1/2 compatible pads that could easily replace an official Xbox or Nintendo option.
I'm all in on steelbook deals today also, there's loads of collectors editions and classic with prices slashed. Never managed to catch the original theatrical version of the Wizard of Oz? I've got you covered, and don't overlook the massive 37% off the Resident Evil Ultimate Steelbook collection either.
It's not just Amazon Prime Day that's going to be throwing cracking deals and restocks at punters this year. Wallmart is getting in on the action early by previewing some of their best deals, I'm looking at you Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box as MSRP pricing! Make sure to grab this 30 day Wallmart+ free trial to get access to these deals a day early on October 6, with these deals being available to all shoppers from October 7th to 12th.
I'm loving the PowerA Fusion Pro wireless controller right now. It closely follows the Xbox Series controller form factor with some welcomes upgrades. The first thing that pops is the 6-mode / 4-zone RGB lighting across the front of the pad, it's stunning and doesn't look cheap like other brands. Hall Effect thumbsticks should be standard these days, and this pad has it.
There's no worries about stick drift over time here thanks to a magnetic mechanism instead of a kinetic one that wears down over time. There's an included low-latency wireless adaptor for Xbox and PC that has far less delay than a standard Bluetooth connection too. Oh, and there's four mappable buttons that can be set on the fly, bargain, right?
If you're like me and not using any of the social features of Nintendo Switch 2 but want a well priced Pro Controller 2 alternative, PowerA's wireless ninty controllers are a top pick for me. My favorite is the Gengar and Pikachu enhanced wireless controller thanks to its Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and 30-hour rechargable battery. I also love the clicky shoulder buttons and front buttons, but maybe that's just my love of PC gaming?
Fantastic 4: First Steps Amazon Exclusive collectors edition? Yes, you heard me. It keeps going in and out of stock, but it's worth keeping an eye on before it's October 14 launch. I want the Five Nights at Freddies Pizza Box collectors edition just because its a really cool set. And we can't forget about saying hello to our little friend Scarface, complete with IconART and a lovely steelbook. These editions sell themselves.
Classics such as The Wizard of Oz Theatrical edition is here with 27% knocked off, and a lovely steelbook Jurrassic World trilogy with a cheeky 8% off. Classics such as Subway and The Monkey are rocking up with slashed prices too, so there's plenty to choose from to build out that epic steelbook collection.
There's some serious price gaps in today's price watch for Pokémon TCG, so let's go over some highlights. Destined Rivals Three Booster Blister Pack is cheaper by nearly $7 on TCGplayer vs Amazon, so that's a nice cheap pickup. Want to rip more packs? How about the White Flare Booster Bundle coming in at $11.99 cheaper on TCGPlayer? That's a big difference to put towards more boosters instead of lining Amazons deep pockets. Need some more Prismatic Evolutions in your life? Well the Mini Tins are just over $10 cheaper on TCGPlayer too, and these savings all add up when you're after ripping as many packs as possible.
Who's your favorite Batman? I'm not going to start an all-out comments war on that one, but every Batman movie worth watching is here, not to mention Batamn: The Animated series and the animated feature of the fan-favourite "Hush" graphic novel. You can even get a 4K film collection for under $35, so if you're looking to beef up your Bat Cave, now's the time.
Majority of mainline Pokémong Switch 1 games? Check. Every Mario game you need for your collection? Yes. How about Kirby? Yep, here's here too. Not only is Woot smashing it when it comes to adding to your Ninty games library, but they're also bulking up on peripherals, cases and more games for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. It's worth looking through, did I mention you can get up to 87% off?
Late to the game building an ammibo collection? Gamestop have your back today with a tonne of legacy ammibo at just $5.99 each, down from $19.99. They've even thrown in Charizard, Pikachu and their exclusive Mr. Game and Watch amiibo. It would be rude to not pick up atleast four.
Gamestop are even slashing prices on newer amiibo, including the new Donkey Kong and Pauline amiibo from DKs latest outing on Nintendo Switch 2. There's also Minecraft, Street Fighter 6, LoZ: Tears of the Kindom and Monster Hunter amiibo on sale. Just over $14 off $30 amiibo? Yes please.

Jsaux have been making cases, screen protectors and the like for longer than I can remember, and it's quality gear. I've been personally using this case for my Nintendo Switch 2 when i'm out and about, and it's great having that extra bit a tough protection for when I inevitably drop it on the pavement. It's not going to make you get more banannas in DK, but it's a good carry case for under $18.
