League of Legends players have called out a new cinematic posted by the official Wild Rift China account as it is allegedly entirely AI-generated.

Riot has released plenty of jaw-dropping League of Legends cinematics over the years. Think of the K/DA music videos, character lore vids, or even the more recent Arcane follow-up “Welcome to Noxus”, which have all left many looking forward to more.

Recently, a cinematic for its mobile version, Wild Rift, started surfacing on social media. However, instead of getting fans excited, it has left the community upset.

Many have called it out for its AI use and criticized the official account that posted it.

LoL fans upset over Wild Rift’s new anniversary cinematic

The new cinematic for Wild Rift highlights the game’s third anniversary in China. It was reportedly posted by the official Wild Rift account on Weibo, though the two-minute video has now been deleted due to community backlash.

Featuring Seraphine, Jinx, Aurora, Yasuo, and Ezreal, the cinematic shows these characters performing on stage surrounded by fans while fighting enemies.

Though the concept itself is enticing, fans were quick to point out noticeable flaws, claiming that the entire video was AI-generated. One user called out Seraphine’s voice, which they mentioned sounded like “a mess.”

Other inconsistencies in the video included voice lines that didn’t match the champions, Jinx using a different weapon, and the champions’ unnatural facial expressions.

The video itself has also been receiving a lot of criticism in a Reddit thread. One user couldn’t help but mention, “What in the bootleg Kpop demon hunters? Smh, lol.”

“I’m dying laughing from how bad it is. Jinx is using a Glock, Seraphine is kicking like she wants to be Lee Sin, Yasuo is using a lightsaber, and Ezreal is using a Glock too. Jinx uses a flamethrower?” said a different person on X.

Others questioned whether the lyrics were also made by AI. Overall, it’s clear that fans weren’t happy with the cinematic, as it looked “so bad.”
