Regardless of what weapon rules Destiny 2‘s ever-changing meta, it’s never a stretch to assume Hand Cannons are somewhere near the top. The Edge of Fate is no different in that regard, but with so many to choose from, one of the expansion’s most versatile options, Agape, has gone somewhat unnoticed.
That’s hardly surprising, considering Spread Shot Hand Cannons – a new archetype added in The Edge of Fate – have been hogging the limelight as of late, but if you’re in the market for a traditional revolver, Agape has you covered across the entire sandbox.
While it’s not universally best-in-class, Agape is a rare example of a Destiny 2 gun that can perform exceptionally well in PvE and PvP, and it’s relatively easy to farm, too. Here are the rolls you’ll want to be on the lookout for while exploring Kepler.
Agape PvE & PvP god roll – Meta analysis
At this point, it probably feels like every god roll you see for a Solar weapon recommends the Heal Clip and Incandescent pairing, but it’s for good reason. The already potent combo gets a massive bump in effectiveness in The Edge of Fate due to synergistic Artifact Mods and several mid-season buffs to Solar subclasses.
If, however, you don’t need additional healing, swapping out Heal Clip for Rewind Rounds isn’t a bad choice to bypass reload animations, especially on Agape, which otherwise suffers from the same slow reload speed as other Heavy Burst Hand Cannons.
For PvP, Agape is a more than solid pick. In addition to excellent base stats in Aim Assistance, Range, and Impact – everything you want for PvP – Moving Target and Precision Instrument are terrific competitive-focused perks. The latter, in particular, is god-tier due to Agape being burst fire, allowing you to cap the perk’s six-stack DPS boost faster than single-shot Hand Cannons.
