MIDA Mini-Tool, one of Destiny 2‘s oldest weapons, finally got a well-deserved reissue in Ash & Iron, and this version is packing some seriously strong god rolls.
Just like the original, this version of the Mini-Tool is Solar element, and, as you’d expect, that means the Submachine Gun gets access to a very spicy roll that’s become a staple of the PvE sandbox.
While the gun’s available pool of perks doesn’t sing as loudly for PvP, there’s still something here worth investigating for every type of player looking to broaden their buildcrafting horizons.
MIDA Mini-Tool PvE & PvP god roll – Meta analysis
If the previous allusion hadn’t already given it away, yes, MIDA Mini-Tool can roll the coveted Heal Clip and Incandescent combo. As expected, the pairing makes Mini-Tool a monstrously good primary weapon for add-clear and sustain, especially when you use the remaining perks to boost Reload Speed.
Doing so will ensure you’re never waiting long for the latter perk’s health bump, triggered when slotting in a fresh mag. For those who prefer to go the route of additional range, swap out Flared Magwell for Ricochet Rounds.
In the realm of PvP, any perks that increase Mini-Tool’s range are your best friend. Smallbore and Ricochet Rounds are must-haves for this reason, while Perpetual Motion and Master of Arms will boost several stats and damage on-kill, respectively.
As of The Edge of Fate’s release, raising your Power level high enough to get Tier 3 or above rolls of the weapon will enable you to get copies of Mini-Tool that potentially have the desired perks for both PvE and PvP. Likewise, this reissued version of the gun synergizes with the reworked Exotic, MIDA Multi-Tool.
