Now that the meta has begun to settle on Destiny 2 following The Edge of Fate‘s release, one Legendary weapon is finally getting the recognition it deserves.
True to its name, Outrageous Fortune, a new Solar-element Heavy Grenade Launcher obtainable from Pinnacle Ops activities, has an unbelievable pool of perks, making it a must-have for all your boss DPS needs.
Think of this heavy-duty boomstick as Solar’s answer to VS Chill Inhibitor. For the very same reasons that the latter, obtained from Vesper’s Host, became a mainstay in many loadouts during Episode’s Revenant and Heresy, Outrageous Fortune has an all-important perk combo that single-handedly sends it to the top of the meta.
Check out the table below for what you’ll want to be on the lookout for while running Encore, The Whisper, and other endgame Exotic missions.
Outrageous Fortune PvE god roll – Meta analysis
Seasoned Guardians will recognise exactly why this Heavy GL has cemented itself as a go-to DPS machine right off the bat. If you’ve just joined the fight in Edge of Fate, however, the answer is Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch.
These two perks work in harmony by granting Outrageous Fortune automatic reloads and a damage boost whenever you damage opponents with your primary and special weapons.
Not only does this eliminate the need to deal with sluggish reloads often associated with GLs, but ratchets up damage by a whopping 30% for 10 seconds. Augment this further with single-target-focused perks like Spike Grenades, and you’re all set.
With Solar being a big focus in Edge of Fate, Outrageous Fortune also benefits from several artefact mods, to boot.
