Following a hugely successful launch in August 2025, NetEaste’s first major post-launch update for Destiny Rising is on the horizon.
While details remain slim on what exactly Season 1: Daybreak will add, we at least know from the roadmap provided alongside Destiny Rising’s release that two brand new characters will enter the meta, likely obtained from in-game banner events.
As always, we’ll update this overview with all the juicy details as and when the developer reveals more information, but here’s what we know so far.
Season 1: Daybreak has no official release date. However, we do know that the content drop is scheduled for September.
At what point in the month that will be remains unclear. On the game’s official Discord server, fans have speculated likely dates to be anywhere between September 11 and 25. The current in-game banner event for Gwynn ends on the latter date, making this the most likely answer, but the simple answer is that nobody knows just yet.
New Banners & Characters
Two new Lightbearers, Estela and Umeko, drop alongside Daybreak in September. The former, of Mythic rarity, is a human Solar Warlock with an Ahamkara Relic, while the latter represents what will be Destiny Rising’s first playable Awoken character.
A Void Hunter, Umeko is Legendary rarity, meaning she’ll almost certainly be easier to pull through Rising’s gacha systems than Estela. We already know what both characters look like due to their brief appearance in the beta, which you can see below.
Do note that NetEase may have made visual or mechanical changes between the beta and Season 1: Daybreak.
Trailers
NetEase released a trailer for Estela on Septmber 8, 2025, showcasing her abilities and weapons. While it remains to be seen what archetype she’ll ultimately fit in, judging by the trailer alone, she appears to be a offense-focused Lightbearer, able to draw on the power of the legendary Ahamkara to augment her Solar energy.
One such ability allows her to conjure an avatar of the legendary beasts to spew flames in a wide area. That being the case, expect her to be an excellent pick for crowd control in Strikes and other PvE activities.
