Pepsi and Doritos are diving head-first into the holiday season early, launching new Gingerbread flavors in October.
Christmas may still be months away, but UK shoppers can already get their hands on Gingerbread Pepsi Max and Gingerbread Doritos, with both hitting store shelves now.
Absurd collabs and limited flavors have been booming in the food world lately. From Oreo Coke and Burger King’s donut burger to even breast milk ice cream, nothing seems too wild anymore.
Doritos & Pepsi push boundaries with Gingerbread flavors
Fan reactions online have been mixed, with some excited for the festive twist and others horrified by the combo.
“Gingerbread Doritos sounds illegal,” one person commented.
“I loved Pepsi Ginger. I hope this is the same,” another said.
Early reviews suggest the Doritos pack a light gingerbread flavor that gets stronger the more you eat, while the Pepsi is being compared to an alcoholic drink, with some saying the ginger taste “kind of works.”
This isn’t the first time either brand has gone all-in on strange releases. Earlier this year, Pepsi partnered with KFC Canada to serve up “Pickled Pepsi” as part of a special pickle-themed menu.
Doritos, meanwhile, dropped a Demogorgon black garlic dip in a Stranger Things collab ahead of the Netflix show’s final season.
Whether Gingerbread Pepsi and Doritos become a holiday staple or just another viral experiment remains to be seen, but they’re already sparking plenty of conversation.
