Valve has officially unveiled a major Dota 2 x Monster Hunter crossover, bringing Capcom’s world of wyverns and Palicoes into the MOBA for a limited three-month event.
The collaboration introduces six Monster Hunter-themed hero sets, a new hunt and craft gameplay system, and several in-game companions, including a Palico courier and a pet Poogie that hangs out in your base. Players can earn materials from every match, which can then be used to craft free Monster Hunter sets based on iconic armor like Rathalos and Kirin.
Each hero set features three craftable versions, offering different visual upgrades as players gather materials from hero hunts. The free core versions are available to all players, while those who purchase the Expedition Pack can unlock exclusive Monster Hunter items, background music, and new crafting recipes for alternative hero sets, courier skins, and pet appearances.
Dota 2 x Monster Hunter collab
Dragon Knight even gets a full Monster Hunter twist, transforming into Rathalos instead of his usual dragon form. Beastmaster can summon a Bullfango companion as part of the Expedition Pack, which also grants early crafting materials and limited cosmetics with custom ambient and Immortal effects.

Players can track progress through the new Hero Atlas, featuring lore entries and dispatches written by Axe’s scribe Goodkind.
