Popular YouTuber and Twitch streamer Duke Dennis was arrested on August 3 at a San Antonio shopping mall while filming content, while fellow AMP member Kai Cenat watched on.
Footage posted to social media shows the 31-year-old AMP member, real name Denzel Dennis, sitting handcuffed on the floor as multiple officers stand around him. The clip quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions online.
Dennis was filming with fellow creator Kai Cenat, who can be seen in the video watching from an upper level and recording the incident on his phone. According to the San Antonio Police Department, Dennis was arrested on charges of criminal trespassing and evading arrest. His mugshot was released a few hours later.
Under Texas Penal Code 30.05, criminal trespass occurs when a person enters or remains on a property without consent or refuses to leave after being asked. This applies to land, buildings, aircraft, and vehicles.
The evading arrest charge falls under Texas Penal Code 38.04, which applies when a person intentionally flees from a law enforcement officer attempting to detain them. In Texas, this offense can be classified as a felony depending on the circumstances.
Dennis remains in custody and has not released a public statement. It is not yet confirmed whether the incident was directly linked to AMP’s filming activities. The group regularly streams, hosts public events, and creates content in the San Antonio area.
