Kindle Unlimited is Amazon’s subscription service, which offers a vast library of books, magazines, audiobooks, and, of course, comic books that you can access across your phone, tablet, or computer.
There’s a huge number of Batman comics on there, too, with some of the Dark Knight’s most iconic adventures on the list, as well as more recent entries like the Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo New 52 run. If you want to know about the Court of Owls, this is a great place to start.
I can recommend dozens of books here, but if you’ve not read The Long Halloween yet, that’s a great place to start.
The critically acclaimed story has helped inspire plenty of big-screen adaptations, and there’s an animated movie, too, but for my money, the book is best. It kicks off with Batman, Harvey Dent, and Jim Gordon working to bring an end to organized crime in Gotham, before becoming a hard-boiled detective story and the emergence of Two-Face.
If you want something a little less grounded, The Batman Who Laughs is well worth seeking out, too, and stars a Batman/Joker hybrid.
Death in the Family is another iconic comic book, while Riddler: Year One was written by actor Paul Dano about the character’s appearance in Matt Reeves’ Batman movie.
