We watched a film called “Rental Family”. The protagonist is an American living in Japan. One day, he starts a new job. His work is to become a “family” for strangers. A fake family. For instance, they attend weddings or funerals as a family. He also does rental friend work. It was very interesting.
Apparently, jobs like rental families really exist. What sort of people do you think request them? In the film, there were various clients: kind-hearted people, bad people, lonely people. I imagine it must be hard to lie to make someone feel reassured or to be accepted by society. However, the film doesn't go deeply into serious themes. There are many fun scenes. The lead actor was Brendan Fraser, and his performance was brilliant.
